This document provides important information about telehealth services offered through the TrimDoctor platform, operated by Peak Asset Performance LLC ("TrimDoctor," "we," "us," or "our"). Please read this document carefully and ensure you understand it before consenting to telehealth services.
I. What Is Telehealth?
Telehealth is the delivery of healthcare services using electronic communications technology when the patient and healthcare provider are not in the same physical location. TrimDoctor uses asynchronous (store-and-forward) telehealth as the primary modality and may also use synchronous (real-time video or audio) consultations when clinically appropriate.
II. How TrimDoctor Telehealth Works
The TrimDoctor telehealth process involves the following steps:
- Online Assessment — You complete a comprehensive health questionnaire through our secure platform
- Physician Review — A licensed healthcare provider reviews your assessment within 24–48 hours
- Eligibility Determination — Your provider determines whether GLP-1 therapy is appropriate for you based on your health profile
- Prescription to Pharmacy — If approved, your prescription is sent to a licensed compounding pharmacy for fulfillment
- Ongoing Care — You communicate with your care team through secure portal messaging
- Monthly Check-Ins — Regular check-ins to monitor progress and adjust dosage as needed
III. Benefits of Telehealth
Telehealth services through TrimDoctor offer the following benefits:
- No office visits or waiting rooms required
- Reduced wait times for physician access
- Privacy and comfort of receiving care from home
- 24/7 secure messaging with your care team
- Digital progress tracking through the patient portal
IV. Limitations and Risks
You should be aware of the following limitations and potential risks of telehealth:
- No physical examination — Your provider cannot perform a hands-on physical exam, which may limit their ability to diagnose certain conditions
- Reliance on patient-provided information — The accuracy of your diagnosis and treatment depends on the information you provide
- Technical difficulties — Internet connectivity issues, device malfunctions, or platform outages may interrupt or delay your care
- In-person referral — Your provider may determine that an in-person evaluation with a local healthcare provider is necessary
- Security risks — While we employ end-to-end encryption and HIPAA-compliant infrastructure, electronic communication carries inherent security risks
- Not for emergencies — Telehealth services are not designed for emergency medical situations
V. Emergency Situations
TELEHEALTH IS NOT FOR EMERGENCIES. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Do not attempt to contact TrimDoctor for emergency care.
Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you experience any of the following:
